Preparedness

The City of Jacksonville Emergency Preparedness Division encourages individuals to be prepared so that in the face of an emergency, we can respond effectively together as a community.

The National Incident Management System (NIMS) defines Preparedness as "a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluating, and taking corrective action in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response".  If we are prepared, we are JaxReady!

As a team of public organizations, private organizations, individuals, families, and communities we can be prepared through taking advantage of public education opportunities, creating disaster plans, developing disaster supply kits, and determining how our businesses will continue to operate following an incident. Use the navigation bar to the left to review preparedness information for yourself, your family, your pets, and your business.
