You may have hours or days to complete last minute preparations. Unfortunately, there are also many hazards such as fire or chemical explosions that are less unpredictable, leaving you with no time to prepare.
The Emergency Preparedness Division uses an all-hazards approach to writing plans and encourages you to do the same. Many of the same ways to prepare for a hurricane will also help you to prepare for other disasters.
